Dark Phoenix director says that main character is not really


Note: The following article incorporates spoilers for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg has revealed the destiny of a significant character from the ultimate instalment of the mutant franchise.

But if you happen to’re but to see the movie, then look away now as a result of there are MAJOR SPOILERS down under…

The ending of the film means that Jean (Sophie Turner) sacrifices herself so as to defeat the villainous Vuk (Jessica Chastain).

But the ultimate scene reveals the form of a Phoenix within the sky, hinting that Jean might have really survived the battle – which Kinberg has now confirmed.

Discussing Jean’s destiny, he advised Entertainment Weekly: “The ultimate voiceover that she offers is the reply to that, which is she’s advanced to a unique kind.

“In a franchise that’s clearly concerning the subsequent step, stage and evolution, she has taken an enormous leap in evolution. Beyond the corporal, past human, past mutant, into one thing else.

“That, for me, felt in many ways true to the essence of the comic.”

Kinberg continued: “After all of the drama, trauma, and intensity of the film, I also wanted the audience to feel like, even though this is the culmination and the sort of climax end of this cycle of storytelling of this saga, there is hope in a future for pretty much all the characters.”
