The guys of MTV’s Jersey Shore were thrilled when New York’s esteemed Village Voice newspaper asked them to flex their honey-hued biceps and pose in all their muscled glory for a photoshoot. Too bad someone neglected to tell Vinny, Ronnie, and The Situation that the shoot was for the paper’s annual “Queer Issue.”

The cover hits Big Apple newsstands Wednesday above the headline “The Guido Ideal,” a exclusive look into the secret lives of “gay Jersey guidos on the down-low.” Well….this could be embarrassing. Sources tell The NY Post that Voice editors didn’t mean to imply that the bed-hopping boys of Shore are gay, “just that they’re hot.”

So here’s to hoping The Sitch N’em are secure enough in their sexuality to take the cover invitation as the compliment it was meant to be.
