Movie News: 'Krampus' Director Confirmed to Helm 'Godzilla 2'; See New &#03…

Godzilla: King of Monsters: Michael Dougherty (Krampus, above) will direct the sequel to Godzilla. The report first surfaced last October and has now been confirmed. Dougherty and Zach Shields are writing the screenplay for Godzilla: King of Monsters, which is scheduled for release on March 22, 2019, to be followed by Godzilla vs. Kong on May 29, 2020. [Variety]

Baby Driver: Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Eiza Gonzalez are featured in a new photo from Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver. Elgort stars as a young getaway driver coerced into participating in a big heist; he can also be seen in another photo showcasing Lily James. Alien: Neill Blomkamp’s planned Alien sequel (concept art above) was placed on hold in August 2015 as priority was given to Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant and its possible followup(s). Blomkamp has since moved on to other projects. When asked recently what the chances are for his Alien sequel to be made, Blomkamp replied simply: “Slim.” [Twitter via Vulture]

Wilson Clip: Woody Harrelson is featured in a new clip from Wilson. He plays the titular character, a neurotic man who interrupts his estranged wife (Laura Dern) at work to show her a family photograph that startles her. The movie opens on March 24. [Movieclips]
