New 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' Trailer Sets Magic Loose In New York
J.K. Rowling already gave the world a tremendous gift with her Harry Potter series. But even though she’s closed the book on Harry Potter’s story, she’s far from done exploring his wonderful wizarding world. She’s reteamed with the director of The Deathly Hallows films for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is planned as the first film in a new franchise.
Set decades before Harry Potter was even born, Fantastic Beasts follows the adventures of the wizard Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he explores the secret magical community of New York City in the early 20th century. It’s the first of any of these movies to be written by Rowling herself, and as you can tell from the new trailer, she’s still got plenty of magic up her sleeve for the world to discover.
