Star Wars films arriving on Disney+ restarts A New Hope debate

Disney+ has lastly launched and with it, it is introduced again a long-standing debate amongst Star Wars followers — who shot first?

For these unfamiliar with the ‘controversy’, followers are divided over who fired the primary shot in Star Wars: A New Hope – Han Solo or Greedo.

In the unique launch of A New Hope, Han clearly shot first, however within the movie’s 1997 Special Edition launch, it was Greedo. Then, within the 2004 replace, they each fired on the similar time.

Now, the Disney+ model has one other change, with Greedo shouting “Maclunkey” earlier than they each fireplace on the similar time.

But for a lot of followers, it doesn’t matter what the edit, it is going to at all times be Han who shot first.

Last 12 months, Alden Ehrenreich, who performs the younger Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, weighed in on the talk and confirmed that it was certainly “Han” who shot first.

“I think it’s just fun [to think that],” he defined. “It’s part of the swagger cowboy of the whole character and everything.”
