After he is attacked on the road at evening by a roving motorbike gang, timid bookkeeper Casey (Jesse Eisenberg) joins a neighborhood karate studio to learn to shield himself. Under the watchful eye of a charismatic teacher, Sensei (Alessandro Nivola), and hardcore brown belt Anna (Imogen Poots), Casey positive factors a newfound sense of confidence for the primary time in his life. But when he attends Sensei’s mysterious evening courses, he discovers a sinister world of fraternity, brutality and hyper-masculinity, presenting a journey that locations him squarely within the sights of his enigmatic new mentor.

A person is attacked at random on the road. He enlists at an area dojo, led by a charismatic and mysterious sensei, in an effort to learn to defend himself.
