Thor: Ragnarok: Director Taika Waititi (above) shared a Facebook Live video on the final day of production for Thor: Ragnarok and casually mentioned a character named Miek. That character was first seen in the Marvel comic book series Planet Hulk, adding fuel to past speculation that the series is serving as inspiration, at least in part, for Thor: Ragnarok. We already know that Mark Ruffalo will be returning as the Hulk in the movie, due for release on November 3, 2017. [THR]
The Predator: Writer/director Shane Black (The Nice Guys, above) expects to begin production on The Predator early next year and in a new interview he credits the success of Deadpool as part of the reason why the movie is expected to earn an R-rating: “Fans of the Predator … probably aren’t looking to go to see a PG-13-rated version of it. It would be more of a letdown if it was sort of tailored to a family friendly audience than if it were allowed to play out to the same scale and level that the first R-rated one did.” [Collider]
The White Devil: Cameron Monaghan (Shameless) will star in The White Devil, described as a supernatural thriller. It’s based on a novel by Justin Evans about an American high school senior who enrolls in a prestigious British academy, only to discover that the school is haunted “by a vengeful former student who quickly forms an unhealthy attachment to him.” [Deadline]
Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Trailer: Newcomer Joe Alwyn stars in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk as a soldier in Iraq who is brought home to the U.S. to be honored.
