Trailer Round-up: Bill Murray Will ‘Rock the Kasbah,’ Lance Armstrong’s ‘The Program,’ and ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’

The Program

The story of Lance Armstrong’s prolific campaign to hide his use of performance enhancing drugs has already been explored in movies (The Armstrong Lie), but if documentaries aren’t your thing, there’s a dramatized version on the way. Directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, High Fidelity) and starring Ben Foster as the cyclist, The Program looks like it tries to get inside the mind of the man who lied to the world for years.

The Program does not have a US release date yet, but it will hit theaters in Europe this September.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Henry Cavill (best known as the man from Krypton) and Armie Hammer (best known as the two men from The Social Network) star in Guy Ritchie’s big-screen reboot of the ’60s spy show The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which obviously stands for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. They both play special agents from opposite sides of the Iron Curtain (Cavill for America, Hammer for Russia) who have to put aside their differences to take down a unified threat.

The “mismatched partners” thing is pretty standard buddy cup material, but as you can tell from the trailer below, Ritchie’s sense of sexy style and elaborate set pieces means this won’t be your standard buddy cop movie.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. hits theaters on August 14, 2015.

Rock the Kasbah

Everyone loves Bill Murray, so Rock the Kasbah is already going to be a pretty easy sell. It’s basically just a bonus that the movie actually looks pretty dang great. It stars Murray as a band manager who gets trapped in Afghanistan only to discover a local girl who has what it takes to actually make it in the big leagues. That sounds like a very Disney-y plot, but as you can tell from the trailer, it’s going to be a bit more adult than that.

Rock the Kasbah hits theaters on October 23, 2015.
